Arsenal ended their American tour with defeat, beating Liverpool in Philadelphia.
Fabio Carvalho scored what turned out to be the winning goal after catching a pass from Harvey Elliott.
Before that, Mohamed Salah had given Liverpool the lead and Arsenal had only received a thanks to Kai Havertz.
The defeat Arsenal end their tour of the United States with a 2-1 defeat after beating Manchester United last week and drawing with Bournemouth.
Mikel Arteta named a strong squad for this clash with Liverpool, but Jurrien Timber and new signing Riccardo Calafiori were in the squad.
Calafiori was not in a hurry to get into action as he only joined Arsenal for training on Monday, while Timber was rested.
Liverpool called up an attacking squad and that’s where the first preseason of Portuguese striker Diogo Jota begins.
It was Salah who gave Liverpool the lead, with the winger finding the net just thirteen minutes in.
A long pass from Caoimhin Kelleher discovered Jota, who set up the ball for Elliott. The midfielder then sent off Salah for a foul and, one-on-one, he made no mistakes.
The first goal set the tone for an entertaining half and Jota scored. With one shot he hit the post and another went over the crossbar.
The Reds doubled their lead, however, thanks to Carvalho. Once again help came from Elliott, whose misplaced pass on the edge of the area went over the top of the Arsenal defense and found Carvalho to score.
Arsenal were on the ropes but hit back just before half-time when Havertz scored after a Martin Odegaard paint.
The second part was up to the entertainment of the first, no doubt in part because both groups made a lot of changes.
Liverpool brought in a lot of teenagers and they managed to hold on, despite Arsenal’s dominant possession.
The Gunners had the chance to level the match, with Fabio Vieira saving Kelleher and Jesús with a header after a corner.
In reality, however, they failed to create golden opportunities and Liverpool managed to hold on for victory.
