Here are the morning headlines from Liverpool for Tuesday 11 August.
Why Tsimikas will play at Anfield
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Kostas Tsimikas’ new victory mentality will get him out of his way at Anfield.
Greek’s first summer signing of 24-year-old Greek Liverpool was the first signing of the summer when he put the pen on paper on a five-year, 11.25 million pound contract on Monday.
And speaking on Liverpool’s official website, Klopp detailed the qualities that attracted him from the former Olympiakos destor.
“We have been watching Kostas for a long time and we are satisfied that he has joined us,” the German said.
“This is the best news before we meet very soon.
“He’s a very smart footballer with a win-win attitude, and I like his mindset. This fits perfectly with the environment and the preference we already have in our wardrobe.
“He has already shown at an early age that he can revel in football in another country and get it right, and he’s been a great component of Olympiacos’ good luck to win his name this season and in his European campaigns.”

The Reds climb O’Neil into the academy structure
Liverpool has appointed former Premier League midfielder Gary O’Neil as Barry Lewtas’ assistant to the Under-23s.
O’Neil joined West Ham United, Portsmouth and Middlesbrough in his career before retiring in 2019.
O’Neil will lend a hand to Lewtas, who selected Neil Critchley’s successor in May after two years at the helm of the U-18.
“I’m excited. He was desperately looking to go,” O’Neill told the Liverpool club’s website.
“It’s been going on for a while and it’s clear that with the break and the Academy having to take an even longer break than the first team, I had to wait a little, but now it’s despite everything that happened and I’m excited and I can’t wait to get started.
“Barry is amazing. You have a great pleasure in running with the boys. Obviously, he’s been very old with the boys, too, so he knows them very well.”

“In 2014, #Tsimikas joined @olyfcacademy,” the Greek wrote on Twitter.
“Today we are proud to announce that of our “Tsimi” to the English Champion and current European and World Champion @LFC!
“We wish each and every one of you good luck, Kostas, to be members of our red and white #familia.”
