Liverpool have shown that assistant manager Pep Lijnders will be the head coach of Red Bull Salzburg next season.
Lijnders has been Jurgen Klopp’s number two for six years and is an integral part of the club’s good fortune at home and in Europe.
But following Klopp’s farewell announcement earlier this year, Lijnders has been given several roles for this summer.
But now it has been shown that the Dutchman will sign for the Austrian giants as number one.
“I’m very proud of the new head coach at Red Bull Salzburg,” Lijnders told Liverpool’s official website.
“It’s a real privilege for me. After PSV, Porto and Liverpool, I now join another exceptional club, with a very intelligent organisation and a special focus on the development of young people.
“I need to expand a mentality in the team that puts a lot of emphasis on the taste of the offensive game and where the fans and the thirst for good luck are the basis of everything.
“Together with my assistant coach Vitor Matos and the entire team, we will do everything we can to help the club continue to grow in an ever-changing world of football.
“My circle of relatives has visited the city before and captivated me with its attractiveness and the friendliness of its people. It’s the last and vital step for me in opting for Red Bull Salzburg.
