A new assignment offered by Liverpool FC may give some insight into why this summer transfer window has been quiet so far.
Liverpool recently advertised a player status manager position on their online page and the role appears to be very concerned with the club’s movement activities and may simply be due to his absence.

While the arrival of a manager with player cachet would likely help speed up the process, there is no indication that Liverpool will wait until this position is filled to act and it is more likely that other factors, such as Slot’s assessment of the team and the summer. Foreign competitions are the explanation for the slow start to Liverpool’s transfer window.
