Spain’s Villarreal, champions of the 2020-21 season, were paired with Olympique de Marseille of the French Ligue 1 in the draw held in Nyon, Switzerland.
Italy’s AC Milan drew with Slavia Prague, Portuguese league leader Benfica will face Scottish Premiership leader Rangers, and Portugal’s Sporting will face Serie A’s Atalanta in the other matches.
The Europa Conference League draw took place on Friday, with Aston Villa taking on Ajax Amsterdam. This is Villa’s first season in Europe since the 2010-11 campaign.
