Liverpool FC’s academy has been affected by an outbreak of Covid-19.

Coaches and at the club’s Kirkby Academy isolate themselves after testing positive for the virus defeated last week.

A Liverpool FC spokesman said: “Several academies have tested positive for Covid-19 and are ousting.

“This has led to the cancellation of a small number of educational sessions for younger teams this week.

“Strict protocols have been implemented in the anti-pandemic academy, adding comprehensive cleaning and fumigation that will continue. “

The academy, on Simonswood Lane, has been the home base for Liverpool’s youth groups since 1998, with the first team set up this month at the end of their new school.

However, the new facility was not affected by the outbreak.
