Man United return to Anfield and the scene of last season’s 7-0 defeat and Erik ten Hag has a number of fitness issues to deal with.
Manchester United will face Anfield on Sunday when they take on Liverpool in a big Premier League clash.
Erik ten Hag’s team is looking to temporarily bounce back after a streak of 3 defeats in their last 4 games. They were knocked out of the Champions League after losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich on Tuesday and the Manchester Evening News understands that tension will be heightened with the Dutchman if the defeat on Merseyaspect is tough.
United will be without a number of first-team players on Sunday, amid an unfolding injury crisis at the club, as well as suspension issues arising at this stage of the campaign. Liverpool were in action in the Europa League on Thursday and were able to make a significant rotation as they have already secured the most sensible spot, but they have to deal with their own fitness issues and MEN Sport have piled up news from groups on both sides below.

Ten Hag will be without Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes for Sunday’s trip to Anfield, but the Reds boss confirmed on Friday he will have Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford available. Maguire was forced off during Tuesday’s Champions League defeat with what looked to be a muscular issue, while Fernandes is serving a one-game ban after picking up his fifth booking of the season.
Shaw was also sent off against Bayern, but his injury is not as serious, while Rashford missed the game due to illness but has recovered. Anthony Martial is still ill and will sign for Casemiro, Mason Mount and Lisandro Martinez to watch from the bench. Victor Lindelof was unavailable midweek, but it is possible that he will return on Sunday.
