Liverpool’s final leg of their American tour sees them take on Man United, and Arne Slot has opted to have two of the veteran players return to training.
The Reds landed in Columbia, South Carolina and were greeted before the game with heavy rain and lightning, with Erik ten Hag taking on the opposition at Williams-Brice Stadium.
The excursion so far has been positive with victories over Real Betis and Arsenal, but functionality and the implementation of Slot’s taste have been the priority.
The coach is slowly integrating veteran players into his team, but more often than not he will stick to the same formula for this one, and that includes keeping Caoimhin Kelleher in goal.
Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah and Kostas Tsimikas lined up at the back, with Ibrahima Konate joining them for the first forty-five minutes.
In midfield, Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott were selected, with the latter expected to pick up where he left off at No. 10.
As expected, Mohamed Salah, Fabio Carvalho and Diogo Jota make up the line-up.
Slot has only named 11 roles on the bench, with Dominik Szoboszlai being the one who is concerned in this case.
Alexis Mac Allister joined the team on Saturday, this game comes too early for the midfielder to participate. Expect to see him at Anfield next weekend for one of the double-headers.
