Latest Liverpool news as Michael Owen gives a questionable interpretation of the Reds’ attack on Jurgen Klopp’s side

Michael Owen has claimed that Liverpool have a better finisher in their squad than Mohamed Salah, despite the striker being the Reds’ top scorer.

Salah has scored 23 goals for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season, five more than Darwin Nunez, second in Liverpool’s scoring charts. However, after recovering from a muscle problem in February, the Egyptian international has scored just two goals in five Premier League games.

His slight dip in form coincided with Liverpool’s dismal one last week. In addition to losing to Man United, Jurgen Klopp’s men were beaten 3-0 at home to Atalanta in the Europa League and to Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

However, despite the abundance of quality in the final third, the goals dried up for Liverpool. The inability to score in their last two games for the first time since March last year.

And speaking to Premier League Productions, Owen claimed that Jota is the team’s most productive finisher, not Salah. “There’s a lack of confidence in front of goal at the moment and it shows,” he said.
