Jurgen Klopp expects Liverpool to be in quick succession as the Premier League champions prepare for the new crusade with two friendlies in Austria.
The Reds will face Klopp’s years of formation in Stuttgart and the Austrian champions in Salzburg on Saturday and Tuesday respectively.
Arsenal is waiting at the Community Shield on 29 August and Klopp is the importance of the two preparation matches.
“It’s obvious to us after the mini-break to locate our brands as soon as possible,” the Liverpool coach told the club’s official website.
“Training seems literally smart right now; that’s what we expected, children haven’t lost much of their physical skills.
“Now [we are] in the midst of preparation, all the tactical things already, so it seems clever right now and any of the war parties are smart war parties. It’s going to be hard.
“These aren’t the most important games in the world, but right now they’re very, very important because we just need to see that kids are the things we think they deserve to use in a game again.”
The match at Wembley with THE FA Cup champion Arsenal will take up position before their pre-season preparations have ended, but Klopp still expects an entertaining match.
“From a point of view of time, the Community Shield is in the preseason, if you will,” he said.
“For us, it’s not the same. It’s going to be a smart game, I’m pretty sure. Arsenal is a smart team, so it will be a smart game, but none of the groups will be finished elements.”
“How can we come back after two weeks of education and things like that? But it doesn’t matter because both groups have the same situation, so it will be difficult.
“But what I see from the boys is that we play our football again. That’s all.”
The 2020–21 Premier League season, which will begin on September 12, will be released on Thursday.
