Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of signing midfielder Trey Nyoni from Leicester City.
The Reds are in the “final stages of negotiations” over a deal for the 16-year-old, according to This Is Anfield. The report adds that the Merseyside club hopes to close the transfer “shortly”.
Although still a teenager, Nyoni has been with the Foxes for a decade. He gave the impression of checking his exit in an Instagram post that read: “Thank you Leicester. I’m grateful to all the players and the club who have helped me. “”He’s grown over the last 10 years and I still don’t wish any good luck on the whole club. “

Nyoni played for Leicester in the under-18 Premier League last season and also played for the under-21 team against Porto in the Premier League International Cup in December, when he was still 15. He also represented England at under-16 level and was part of the team that won the Montaigu Tournament in April.
Described as “tall for his age and adept at ball and ball”, Nyoni is expected to sign up for Liverpool’s under-18 team once his move is complete.
