Liverpool pre-season plans interrupted by UK government

Liverpool’s pre-season arrangements have been interrupted by the British government.

On Thursday it was announced that travellers returning to the UK from France will be quarantined for 14 days upon arrival.

Klopp and his team were to attend an educational camp in Evian to prepare for the 2020/21 season, scheduled for September 12.

However, they will now go to Austria to prepare for their Premier League crown.

Kronen Zeitung reports that Liverpool will now go to Saalfelden for 10 days and may face RB Salzburg in a pre-season friendly.

Coronavirus cases are reportedly low in Austria, with just over 20,000 reported to date, meaning the equipment will not have quarantine restrictions when returning to the UK.

Liverpool returns to Arsenal action at the Community Shield at Wembley on 29 August.
