Premier League champion Liverpool took an inventory this afternoon of Joe Gomez’s injury.
Wednesday morning, of course, the worst fears of Jurgen Klopp and cie. Realized.
A few days after Trent Alexander-Arnold joined the defensive considerations of the injured Merseyrs, the English learned that Gomez had also detected a problem.
Initial reports warned that the 23-year-old had collapsed in an educational session, described as a “potentially serious” knee injury.
Liverpool enthusiasts, in turn, have since had a worried wait for an update on their star’s well-being.
And, as noted above, such an update has since been released. However, the news is positive.
In a post posted on the club’s social media platforms recently, the Reds showed that Gomez forced himself to repair a broken tendon in his left knee on Thursday.
Fortunately, Gomez has escaped any disorder with the surrounding ligaments, the main problems not to be forgotten from Liverpool’s announcement are:
“There is no established timetable for your return, the challenge is likely to exclude you for a significant portion of the rest of 2020-2021. “
The challenge walked away from Gomez’s tendon, without harm to other related knee ligaments and Joe will now begin a rehabilitation program with our medical team ?

As mentioned above, Gomez’s injury leaves Jurgen Klopp and company in some way in a crisis regarding defensive options.
Virgil van Dijk, of course, has been ruled long-term, Joel Matip has had trouble getting fit in the first few months of the season, while Fabinho, who has played admirably in the back, is also offside for now.
It is therefore imaginable that Liverpool embark on the club’s first outing after the overseas break with a couple of Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips in the centre of the club’s baseline.
However, one that remains open to English champions is to immerse yourself in the independent agent market.
Although the features are not many, Klopp and company may not yet have a selection to provide an emergency help option, which will serve as a canopy until January.
Two of those options, by the way, have already been promoted in the media.
The first is Ezekiel Garay.
Veteran stopper Garay has been a club since his contract with Valencia expired last summer.
However, the former Argentine foreigner would raise much-needed joy in Klopp’s defensive ranks, that is, in the Champions League.
And, of course, he is no longer the defender who in the past had covered up Real Madrid and Benfica, Liverpool can do something much worse than bring Garay into a short-term agreement.
Dary Janmaat is also named as an addition to the Reds’ defensive ranks on Thursday.
Former Newcastle goalkeeper And Watford Janmaat left the team this summer after relegation to the championship.
And, according to a report via TeamTalk, Liverpool have been presented with the opportunity to bring in the Dutchman. Not only that, however, it is added that the Merseyside giants are very much this possibility.
This comes amid claims that Janmaat was personally at the club through compatriot Gini Wijnaldum.
What makes Janmaat such an attractive option is the fact that he can play on both the right-back and the middle, that canopy would also be provided for Trent Alexander-Arnold, apart.
It remains to be seen, however, that Jurgen Klopp sees the 31-year-old as a better option than the aforementioned Williams or the flexible James Milner.
