Liverpool are reportedly “ready to sell” Colombian foreigner Luis Diaz this summer to replace Anthony Gordon.
Diaz, valued at £75m, is strongly linked to a move elsewhere earlier this summer amid interest from European giants FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
The winger’s move to Liverpool was a bright start as he starred for the Premier League giants in the race after joining them from Porto for £37. 5m in January 2022.
But Diaz’s career was put on hold due to a serious knee injury, which caused him to miss most of the 2022/23 campaign.
The 27-year-old returned to full fitness at the end of the 22/23 season and made 37 appearances in the Premier League last season. However, he was criticized for wasting the goal at key moments.
Liverpool attempted to sign Gordon from Newcastle United earlier this summer and England would arguably be an upgrade on Diaz.

Newcastle opened the door to Gordon’s promotion as they sought to balance the books and a deduction for breaching the Premier League’s benefits and sustainability rules.
A partial swap deal involving Gordon is on the table and he must undergo a medical before Newcastle pull the plug in the 11th hour.
A report from Football Insider claims that Liverpool still have an “active interest” in Gordon, while they are reportedly “willing” to sell Diaz while they “work on a late double deal. “
“Liverpool are in a position to sell Colombian winger Luis Diaz before the end of the transfer window,” sources told Football Insider. Barcelona and PSG were interested in the 27-year-old who was in the window, but have since moved on to other targets.

“Arne Slot’s side attempted to sign a left-footed striker in the summer and had talks over a player switch deal involving Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon, but they could not reach an agreement.
“Gordon has been tipped as a younger, more dynamic option for Diaz on the left flank, and Anfield’s newest appeal is that the club’s interest remains ‘active’ in the final three weeks of the summer window.
“The Merseyside club remain the only team in Europe’s top five leagues that have not signed any players so far in this transfer window, but they are active on the scene.
“Liverpool are looking for an agreement to sign Martin Zubimendi and are sure to reach an agreement after discussions over the last 24 hours.
