Liverpool star Salah returns to Sparta Prague after injury

Mohamed Salah has given Liverpool a big boost after the Egyptian star travelled to Sparta Prague for Thursday’s Europa League clash following his recent dismissal due to injury.

Salah joined his Liverpool teammates on the flight to Prague after missing the last 4 games with muscle fatigue.

The 31-year-old has played just 46 minutes for Liverpool since leaving the Africa Cup of Nations early with a hamstring injury in an organisational match against Ghana in January.

Salah’s emergence as a substitute came against Brentford on 17 February, with the striker scoring at the Gtech Community Stadium before being sidelined with a muscle problem.

He trained with the rest of Liverpool on Wednesday and could play in the first leg of the round of 16 against Sparta.

Salah’s availability is for Reds manager Jurgen Klopp ahead of Sunday’s seismic clash against Manchester City in the Premier League.

Second-placed City will head to Anfield, one point leader Liverpool, in a tense race for the name.

Liverpool, a four-time pursuer, won the League Cup final against Chelsea Salah and also beat Luton, Southampton and Nottingham Forest in his absence.

But Salah’s return is a big boost for Liverpool ahead of the decisive final weeks of Klopp’s final season in charge.

The Egyptian has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season, 15 in 21 league games.

Klopp has taken his most productive team to Prague, with Darwin Nunez and Wataru Endo in the race to start after coming on as substitutes in last weekend’s win at Forest.
