Reds prepare for departures on the deadline
Several Liverpool players may be on the move before the national move-in deadline at 5pm, writes Ian Doyle, ECHO’s editor-in-chief in Liverpool.
The Reds are expected to point to anyone, however, they may just take a look to send young players on loan to gain first-team experience.
Harry Wilson will be among the headlines, with the Welsh in a position to give in to Cardiff City.
Nat Phillips can also go on the way out with Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough and Bristol City linked, while Ben Woodburn can pass on loan.
Liam Millar and Yasser Larouci are also warned of departure, while Sepp van den Berg is available for a loan.
Herbie Kane is about to enroll in Barnsley as part of a permanent agreement.
Players will have the absence of Alisson – Barnes
Liverpool will have to not allow Alisson Becker’s absence in his progress, club legend John Barnes says.
The Brazilian goalkeeper will be lost next month while recovering from a shoulder injury.
His replacement, Adrian, made a mistake the last time in the crushing 7–2 loss to Aston Villa.
But Barnes told Jurgen Klopp’s players about Adrian’s presence among the sticks in front of Saturday’s derby with Everton.
“Just because he’s not there doesn’t mean Adrian’s not a bad doorman. It just means that the defender rarely plays with Adrian as Alisson,” Barnes told ECHO.
“Look when Joe Gomez or Joel Matip played alongside Virgil van Dijk. Sometimes they’re much bigger than when they were with Dejan Lovren. Gomez or Matip are the same player, but they feel more comfortable with a better player.
“It’s anything Jurgen Klopp tells his players that Alisson isn’t there because they just have to move on. “

Klopp the maximum end under FSG – Redknapp
Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes Klopp is the FSG-era’s ultimate vital signing.
The Reds have made the right moves in the moving market during FSG’s 10-year tenure, with Luis Suarez, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk just 3 examples.
However, Redknapp believes no signing will affect Klopp, who this month celebrated his five years as a Liverpool manager.
