Liverpool vs Crystal Palace LIVE! Premier League Result, Adjustment Feed & Today’s Latest Updates

Liverpool’s quest for a Premier League name in manager Juergen Klopp’s final season with the team suffered a major blow with a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday that left them third in the table.

Eberechi Eze scored in the 14th minute to wow the Anfield faithful in Liverpool’s third successive disappointing result. Klopp’s men are level on 71 points with second-placed Arsenal, who played later on Sunday, and two provisional leaders Manchester City.

Tyrick Mitchell found Eze unmarked in the box after a pass and Eze went home with his first touch to give Palace the lead. A poor finish from Liverpool, coupled with Curtis Jones’ shot on a breakaway that shot wide, secured the visitors’ victory.

Liverpool had lost 3-0 to Atalanta in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday and a costly 2-2 draw against Manchester United in their last league game on April 7.

A week is a long time in football, and seven days of totally unforeseen heartbreak have seriously ruined Liverpool’s hopes of winning the silver medal in Jurgen Klopp’s final season at the helm.

Last Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford was one that eluded the Reds: their dominance was not revealed in the final score. But twice in the past four days, a return to their trusty Anfield castle has caused surprise defeats that threaten to ruin Liverpool’s once-promising campaign.

Like Thursday’s 3-0 Europa League win over Atalanta, few saw Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace coming. It provides Arsenal and Manchester City with genuine momentum in their title quest, but it’s entirely Liverpool’s doing.
