Liverpool finally found some form in a 4-2 Premier League win over Tottenham on Sunday in beloved manager Jurgen Klopp’s penultimate game at Anfield.
Goals from Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott moved Klopp’s men to within five points of table leaders Arsenal with two games left and four points protecting champions Manchester City, who have a game in hand against both.
Liverpool’s talisman Salah headed home his 18th league goal of the season in the 16th minute before Robertson doubled his lead with a touch just before the break. Gakpo headed in Elliott’s cross in the 50th minute, and then the midfielder hit his own with a rocket from 20 yards away that curled into the most sensitive corner.
Richarlison and Son Heung-min scored two to give a spirited finish, but an unforeseen comeback for Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs, who sit fifth in the table.
Oliver Skipp, Richarlison (who booed at Liverpool) and James Maddison for Tottenham. It’s the turn of Dejan Kulusevski, Emerson Royal and Rodrigo Bentancur.
