ARNE SLOT faces a mammoth task to emulate Jurgen Klopp.
But my specialty is this: DON’T TRY TO COPY IT. Be your own man, Arne.
David Moyes after Sir Alex Ferguson, Unai Emery after Arsene Wenger, Slot after Klopp. . .
It’s almost like staying with such monumental coaches in such emblematic clubs.
Then Slot would be stupid and try to replace everything in one day. They are already in a successful and winning formula.
But I only hope that, for his own good, he doesn’t try to play precisely Klopp’s footballing taste, whether intense and enthusiastic.
I can’t wait to start the new season and I can’t wait to see how the coaches will try to overcome the other obstacles that lie in front of them.
The biggest challenge of the Slot is, without a doubt, to quickly rally the Liverpool fans, as they have become accustomed to their way of attacking.
They are used to seeing a relentless and ruthless device that scores goals.
They don’t care if they play against Manchester City, Aston Villa or Luton.

It’s all: “Bang, bang, bang, we’re coming this way. ” This is who we are, this is our identity.
Me at the end of some Liverpool beatings in my time.
They were almost at odds and enthusiasts will need Slot to recreate Klopp’s glory days immediately.
But he deserves to try to break this tie as temporarily as possible and send a message to his team, to the fans and to the rest of the Premier League: this is my moment and this is my football logo.
Like the rest of us, Liverpool enthusiasts deserve to know exactly what Slot is after 3 games, starting with tomorrow’s game against Ipswich.
I couldn’t have dreamed of a less difficult Premier League opener.
So I hope they win, but I’ll be watching their performance like a hawk.
That is the most vital thing. He had a preseason to convey his ideas, but it is a pot of fish that is thrown into the chimney and sulfur of the Premier League.
So things may not work out right away.
But as long as what he’s looking to do is obvious and the players are seemingly looking to put his ideas into practice, Liverpool enthusiasts can rest easy.
MATT WADE, Head of Sports Strategy at Feyenoord
“He is a brilliant communicator and advisor, but at the same time transparent.
“He’s cautious, introverted, but very rule-and-principled, which means everyone knows where he stands.
“And it’s not paranoid, which gives specialists the freedom to operate. “
SANDER WESTERVELD, former Liverpool goalkeeper and teammate of Arne Slot
“When I played with Arne at Sparta, you could see that he would be a coach.
“He’s a leader, a No. 10 midfielder and someone who replaced tactics on his own.
“The work he has done at Feyenoord makes him Liverpool’s best player. “
Dutch journalist MARCEL VAN DER KRAAN
“I’ve been following Feyenoord for years. Not since Johan Cruyff’s time at Ajax in the 80s has there been such an offensive coach in the Dutch league.
“Cruyff only had a few disciples who followed him and one of them was Pep Guardiola. “
Arsenal star REISS NELSON, who played 31 games in Slot on loan at Feyenoord
“I had the impression that Arne Slot is the perfect coach. It put me in my rhythm.
“He gave me a lot to play and I stood out. “
The challenge is that when your team is expected to be at the top of the leaderboard, Slot wants to expand its players and put their taste to use while delivering consistent results.
You will have to rank at least in the 4 most sensible. Nothing less and he leaves.
Because, let’s be honest, it’s still a joke.
They have world-class elite stars such as Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Their midfield is not bad and Alisson is also one of the 3 goalkeepers on the planet.
Even Darwin Núñez is a team player.
If Slot manages to calm him down in front of goal, the Uruguayan would be a completely different player and the goalkeeper he missed last season may be worth 11 or 12 problems this time around.

NOW we know Jurgen Klopp’s last major trophy at Liverpool: a Champions League, a Premier League, an FA Cup, two League Cups and (if necessary) a Club World Cup.
But where does his reign, the greatest of the Premier League era, stand?
In terms of black and white, Klopp is far from Sir Alex Ferguson and Pep Guardiola, the only two men to have won multiple Premier League and Champions League titles at the same club.
These two, along with Brian Clough, Bob Paisley and Sir Matt Busby, are the undisputed all-time greats when it comes to English football management.
But Klopp moves on to the next one: along with Arsene Wenger, José Mourinho (the Chelsea version), Bill Shankly and Don Revie.
These are all men who have the strength of character of their club in their symbol and enjoy good luck, but who have not won as much as they could have.
If Klopp had managed to keep his intentions secret and won some other title, even a triple or quadruple, he would have risen to the top echelon with Ferguson, Guardiola, Clough, Paisley and Busby.
But deciding when and how to leave is one of the most difficult decisions for any coach or athlete.
Klopp is wrong.

All this is evidently said and not done.
And given the quick judgment of players when a new manager joins a club, Slot’s tenure would have possibly already been made or broken.
The first few days are vital.
Especially because he will fight to get out of Klopp’s shadow.
All of their firsts are huge. First meeting, first session and, of course, his first competitive match.
And look, I had 16 managers at Watford, so I know what I’m talking about better than anyone.
I have worked with a wide range of people.
Marco Silva arrived and bluntly: “This is what we do, how we do it and this is what I expect.
“Come in or leave. ”
You knew you were standing.
But I’ve noticed that the coaches come and play with English that wasn’t very good.
They would confuse the words and lose in translation.
And you would know they weren’t going to last.
Liverpool will have already made their decision on Slot.
And it will be a better indication of whether or not they will have it.
