Despite the hypothesis linking him to a season in the Premier League with Leeds United and Crystal Palace, he has now put the pen in the role to move to Portugal.
He will be placed in The B team of Porto before aiming for a breakthrough in the level of the first team.
The 19-year-old, who turns 20 at the end of the month, has signed a two-year contract.
“It’s even surreal to be here,” he said in an interview with the Porto website.
“FC Porto is a very big club. As soon as I arrived, I felt the greatness of the club and the atmosphere that was lived there.
“It’s a blessing to be here, honestly.
“I feel like it’s a winning-minded club, with a massive story and that likes to integrate young players into the big team, and stays on top.
“I come with the preference to do a lot of things here.”
Loader scored two goals in 35 appearances in his time with Reading.
