ROMA (AP) – Brother instead of brother on the ground, fellow World Cup winners compete on the sidelines.
Family ties and history were an integral component of the regional derby between Napoli and Benevento in Serie A on Sunday.
Lorenzo and Roberto Insigne scored and Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli beat Filippo Inzaghi’s Benevento in a 2–1 victory.
It is the first time the Insigne brothers played against each other and represented the first goals.
Younger brother Roberto Insigne, whose career in Napoli’s youth system, scored the first of close diversity after being set up through Gianluca Lapadula in the split hour to give Benevento the lead.
“I’m very, very happy, but I’m sorry I scored my first Serie A goal against my brother,” Roberto Insigne said.
Italian Lorenzo Insigne gave the impression that he had returned to Napoli in a time after half-time with a flat shot around a defender in the farthest corner, but the purpose ruled through the VAR by offside.
Lorenzo Insigne continued, however, and nevertheless hooked with a long and splendid shot that passed through the bottom of the crossbar on time.
After Lorenzo wrote down, he approached his brother and shared a few words.
“I had marked him with his foot, the one on the left, ” said Lorenzo Insigne.
Seven minutes later Lorenzo Insigne moved a little further and a few seconds later Andrea Petagna won for the Napoli visitor with a shot from the center of the area.
The purpose of the victory was the product of two alternates, Matteo Politano creating Petagna, giving Gattuso tactical credit for his former team-mate at AC Milan and Italy, Inzaghi.
In addition to winning two Champions League titles combined in Milan, Gattuso and Inzaghi were also members of the Italian team that won the 2006 World Cup.
Napoli have moved a point to Serie A frontman AC Milan, although Partenopei has won all four matches they have actually played as the Rossoneri.
Napoli lost 3-0 and was penalized with one point for betting on a game at Juventus after some cases of coronavirus within the team.
Gattuso was a reaction from his team after being disappointed 1-0 through Dutch club AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.
Benevento, whom Inzaghi guided from afar to the Name of Serie B last season, is twelfth.
Inzaghi and Gattuso also trained two years ago when Inzaghi in Bologna and Gattuso were also trained at the pace of Milan.
OTHER RESULTS
Cagliari beat the ascended Crotone 4-2 with Charalampos Lykogiannis, Giovanni Simeone, Riccardo Sottil and Joel Pedro.
Juraj Kucka scored a penalty for Parma in a 2–2 draw against ascended Spezia.
