Lourdes football uses Titan Stadium, will play in the new Catholic complex of St. Mary

University sports systems were wary of the pandemic, and this is not the case with UW-Oshkosh, who will not compete this fall.

The Titans allow the Academy of Lourdes to play their best school football matches in J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium. Along with Oshkosh West and Oshkosh North, Lourdes uses the UWO box for house games.

It was too wonderful a threat to the hard Division III program for the Knights to use the facilities during the pandemic.

“They hoped that our team and everyone who would play and those who came to Titan would adhere to the same rules that the NCAA had set for all school teams,” said Kevin Wopat, Lourdes football coach and athletic director. evidence, was not feasible. “

The resolution also affects Lourdes’ men’s team, which also plays at Titan Stadium.

Lourdes, however, has reached an agreement with St. Mary Catholic at Fox Crossing to play her five home games at the new $2. 5 million SMC sports complex.

“It’s an honor to be able to use it this season, we’re very grateful to our northern neighbors for being able to let us play there,” Wopat said. “But our seniors are disappointed that they can’t play in Titan. But to be fair to you, with the last six months, you are simply satisfied to have the opportunity to play football. “

Lourdes plays on Saturday because SMC plays at home on Friday night. Wopat and Lourdes also worked on Saturday’s competitions for the SMC men’s team.

“Kevin came here a few weeks ago and saw our new facilities here, and it’s awesome,” said SMC Sports Director Matt Schoultz. “We are very fortunate to have the amenities we have now. He was back, as I said, kind and willing to do whatever it takes for his team to play here. “

Private fund renewal can be the most exciting thing for the MSC athletics team. The hotel has a runway that SMC never had on its old lawn lot, so the team used to exercise in the parking lot, Schoultz said.

Lourdes’ first attack on the facility will take place on 25 September as opposed to Markesan.
