MAC returns with a season of 6 games starting November 4

The Mid-American Conference, the first elementary school football league to postpone its season due to the pandemic, has the last to return, so it is 10 of the 10 matches to be played in the fall.

As the presidents of Big Ten, Pac-12 and Mountain West universities have done for more than 10 days, MAC leaders voted Friday against their August resolution to launch football in the spring and launch their same season as usual.

Like other meetings in the fall, the MAC cited progress in the COVID-19 antigen as the key to management replacement. The convention will start athletes 4 times a week, starting October 5.

The MACtion will begin on November 4, on a Wednesday, of course, and the championship game will be played on December 18 or 19.

“Our decisions in August and the past were based on a number one fear for the well-being of students-athletes, establishments and the network in general,” Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher said in a statement. “Our medical advisory group, presidents, sports administrators and others have worked hard to expand a plan that gives student-athletes the opportunity to compete.

Mac, a league of 12 schools basically made up of Midwest schools with modest sports budgets, postponed all fall sports on August 8. Within a few days, Mountain West, Big Ten and Pac-12 had done the same.

Six conferences, adding the southeast, the Atlantic coast and the big 12, were delayed. The wonderful school football season on Labor Day weekend and there have already been interruptions.

But if all goes well, from the first weekend of November, all the matches will be played football.
