Man City rejects Leeds moves interest in tying Tommy Doyle in 2025 at 18 in a position for the future of the first team

The much-loved 18-year-old midfielder is the grandson of legends Mike Doyle and Glyn Pardoe.

Doyle made his City debut last October in the Carabao Cup Southampton.

And his first Premier League came here against Newcastle in July.

But Doyle’s impressive rise had gone unnoticed, with Leeds wishing to take him to Elland Road.

The teen’s contract with the city will expire in 2021, making him a loose agent next summer.

But Pep Guardiola, who would be very inspired by Doyle, has ensured that his long career remains in Etihad by extending his contract for 4 years.

Doyle told city’s official online website that it was “obvious” to stand still, adding that he is in a position to fight for a place in the first team alongside academy product Phil Foden.

Doyle said: “I see this position as my home. I have been here for so many years and being presented with a new contract has been a huge thing for me.

“Obviously, it’s a no-brainer for me to point out, but now everything is fixed, I’m very satisfied and in a position for the start of the season.

“I grew up as a player and as a club user. I think it’s a lot because I’m an amateur too.

“I’ve spent so much with this club and, obviously, now that I’m with the first team, I’ll still be more informed about the coach, the coach and the players.

“These are exciting times for me and I’m ahead of them. I am very satisfied with my progress.

“I only try to use staff and players as much as possible to get as much data and to grow as a player and as a person.

“I think the most important thing is to go out in this box and when I did, I enjoyed every minute.

“I hope this season I can make more appearances and keep playing. “

However, reports state that City is in danger of being ANOTHER prodigy for Borussia Dortmund.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has been inclined to stay with Jadon Sancho at the Bundesliga club, with a deal in a few days.

Meanwhile, City won a coup before their first game with the Wolves, with Sergio Aguero unavailable after knee surgery in June.
