Man City signal to Us foreigners Mewis

(Reuters) – Manchester City recruited American world Cup winner Sam Mewis, North Carolina Courage of the National Women’s Football League (NWSL), the English announced on Monday.

The 27-year-old, who helped the U.S. national team win the World Cup in France last year, is the signing of the Women’s Super League contract following Chloe Kelly’s arrival at Everton.

Mewis has 67 international matches and 18 goals for his country, two plays in France last summer.

“I’m so glad everything’s settled. The opportunity presented itself at a very clever moment, as soon as I heard about the option to bet on Manchester City, I became interested without delay,” Mewis said on the club’s website.

“The club is one of the world and I’ve heard a lot of smart things about all the women and the amazing facilities. I’ve also been on the men’s team for a long time.”

Mewis won the NWSL championship with Western New York Flash in 2016 before adding two more titles to the festival with Courage after joining them the following year.

City ended with Chelsea in the 2019–20 Women’s Super League after the end of the crusade due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the festival was point-by-match.

Gareth Taylor’s City’s face has ascended aston Villa to his first game of the month of the new season.
