Bayer Leverkusen agreed to the possible signing of James McAtee from Manchester City, a FIFA resolution would have put the move on hold.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Leverkusen have “approached” Man City to talk about McAtee’s possible move to Germany. Xabi Alonso’s appearance has “offered” the city an initial loan that includes the option to buy this summer.
Alonso is pushing for the move, as he is a “big fan” of the attacking midfielder. Alonso has made McAtee his “first choice” to update Leverkusen’s slacker, Martin Terrier.
Romano says Pep Guardiola and City are “reluctant” to let their academy graduate that he feels he can be a “regular starter” in the future.
However, the city will have to deal with McAtee’s wishes, as the 22-year-old is open to leaving so he can continue his progression through the week of play.
Sky Sports also provided its details on the move-in search, stating that Leverkusen’s option to buy is worth €25m (£21m/$26. 3m).
However, a move to Leverkusen can slip through the cracks of McAtee’s mind, in the existing movement window. Sky Sports adds that the move introduced in primary doubt due to FIFA’s loan rules.
City already have six players on loan, and they want not to forget one of the players before McAtee can give Leverkusen on a loan to understanding.
Since then, Leverkusen have agreed to sign Emi Buendia from Aston Villa on a loan deal than an option to buy. As such, McAtee’s proposed transfer to Leverkusen turns out to be dead in the water.
It remains to be noted that the reigning Bundesliga champions have the finances to temporarily release a £21m bid to signal McAtee permanently.
On January 19, it was claimed that Guardiola had approved the playmaker’s departure, Romano has returned to that suggestion.
Maiz has been connected with an ambitious move to verify and signal McAtee ahead of German rivals Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund.
At this point, however, it seems that Leverkusen are putting pressure on the hardest to take him. They wait for the stage and announce McAtee as their last catch before the Feb. 3 deadline.
Meanwhile, Norwegian star Sverre Nypan has “arrived in London” ahead of discussions about his future.
Arsenal are in a position to go down with Nypan and his entourage this week. The city organization needs to signal the midfielder first by sending him to Girona initially, then to the city if he impresses.
Nypan saw the city’s 3-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday at Erling Haaland’s executive.
City are exploring a “sensational end-of-January deal” for Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich.
The German ace has entered the final six months of his Bayern contract and his city would expect to indicate a reduced value in the coming days.
Guardiola can be reunited with Kimmich, having trained in the past at the Allianz Arena.
