Manchester United on Wednesday announced the recruitment of Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek for 34 million pounds ($45 million) plus additions.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made the 23-year-old midfielder his first signing of the summer window.
Van de Beek played a role in Ajax’s race to the Champions League semi-finals last year and signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford with the option of an additional season.
Donny van de Beek told Manchester United’s official website: “I can’t begin to explain how wonderful it is to sign up for a club with such an incredible story.I need to thank everyone at Ajax, I grew up there and I’ll have a special bond with the club.
