LIVERPOOL will face Ajax, Atalanta and Midtjylland in the Champions League organizing phase, which will see Barcelona face Juventus after Thursday’s draw in Geneva.
The Premier League champions, who have won the European Cup six times, were in the top 8 and entered Group D.
Europe’s heavyweights, Barca, 8-2 through eventual champion Bayern Munich in last season’s singles quarter-finals, have been tied for Juve in Group G, who will see Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo renew their rivalry.
Group G ends through Dynamo Kyiv and Hungarian Ferencvaros.
Manchester City tied for Porto, Olympiacos and Marseille in Group C.
Manchester United are in Group H, where they face last season’s runner-up Paris St Germain as RB Leipzig and Istanbul Basaksehir.
In Group E, Chelsea stood alongside the winners of the Europa League, Seville, Krasnodar and Rennes.
Bayern Munich are in Group A with Atletico Madrid, Salzburg and Lokomotiv Moscow.
Group B will see Real Madrid, holder of a record thirteen European Cup titles, face Inter Milan, Shakhtar Donetsk and Borussia Monchengladbach.
Zenit St. Petersburg is the most sensible in Group F, where Borussia Dortmund, Lazio and Club Bruges will be measured.
The opening matches of the Champions League will be played on 20 and 21 October and the schedule will be shown on Friday night.
The 2021 Champions League final will be held at Istanbul’s Ataturk Stadium on 29 May.
During the ceremony, Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne named the season’s men’s midfielder in the Champions League.
