Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has settled his feud with Jadon Sancho, but the winger is likely to leave this summer amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
Sancho was excluded from the Man Utd squad last season after a dispute with Ten Hag and eventually joined former club Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.
The 24-year-old showed signs of returning to his home with Dortmund last season as he played a key role in the German giants reaching the Champions League final.
Ten Hag has warned in recent interviews that Sancho would have a chance to shine at Old Trafford, and has even said he could play as a centre-forward this season.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Dan Ashworth, however, are still willing to sell Sancho for the right value and PSG are the favorites to sign him at the moment.
Sancho put his functionality in years against the French giants in the semi-finals of the Champions League and that seems to have convinced them to take a step.
According to Sky Sports News, PSG have had “initial discussions” about signing Sancho and are believed to be enthusiastic about the move.
The report claims that there have been “discussions regarding a possible deal” between Man Utd and PSG. Personal situations will not be a factor as Sancho considers a return to top-flight football.
The dialogue with PSG is still open, as they have also talked about midfielder Manuel Ugarte this summer; as things stand, a move to Old Trafford is unlikely for him.
Man Utd maintains interest in Ugarte, but at the costs offered by PSG. The French club, however, are willing to sell him after signing Joao Neves from Benfica for £50m.
Sancho has already returned to the Red Devils’ first team and has played in the pre-season after “burying the axe” with Ten Hag.
Juventus and Dortmund have shown interest in signing the £40million star on a permanent deal this summer.
But new reports from Italy claim that Juve are already out of the race for Sancho.
According to Calciomercato, the Turin side are now pushing to sign Newcastle target Nico Gonzalez, who is set to leave Fiorentina this summer.
As a result, Juve have “abandoned” their pursuit of Sancho, leaving PSG as clear favorites to sign for England this summer.
The option of Sancho staying at Manchester United cannot be ruled out either. He said in a recent interview that he was pleased to be back in training with the Red Devils.
It turns out that Ten Hag is pleased to have him back on his team. He can provide cover in the winger and forward positions and, as we saw last season, he has world-class ability at the time.
