MANCHESTER UNITED and Arsenal have missed out on signing Croatian wonderkid Dino Klapija.
The teenage forward has instead agreed to join RB Leipzig from NK Kustosija for £4.8million.
Both Premier League clubs had been connected to the American-born in recent weeks.
However, the Daily Mail is now reporting that Klapija has reached an agreement with the Bundesliga side.
His family are said to have chosen Leipzig as they offered the best pathway into the first-team.
The measure also includes a 10-pound resale clause for Kustosija.
However, Arsenal are said to have caught Klapija’s eye after scouts looked at his last 3 matches.
The Gunners have also proposed moving his family to London as part of a potential deal.
Klapija, who turned 17 on Friday, was born in the United States and began his career at the New York academy.
However, last year he returned to Croatia with his family and joined Dinamo Zagreb before moving to Kustosija.
The youngster is eligible to represent both the USA and Croatia, who previously capped him at under-17 level.
Meanwhile, he was included in the U. S. starting squad for last year’s U-17 World Cup in Indonesia.
