MANCHESTER UNITED have named teenager Harry Amass to the Liverpool bench for the first time.
Amass signed a professional contract with the club in March, at the age of 17.
The left-back joined the Red Devils from Watford in the summer.
He will be in the U-18 league this season.
In 14 games he scored one goal and 3 assists.
Amass is also a young England international, having played for the Three Lions Under-17 team.
He has been training with the first team in recent weeks amid the club’s devastating defensive injury crisis that has made Erik ten Hag a renowned senior left-back.
This crisis has also left Ten Hag with four senior centre-backs to face Liverpool.
Harry Maguire is now partnered with fellow Carrington graduate Willy Kambwala, 19, in the centre of defence.
Kambwala made his first-team debut for Man Utd against West Ham earlier this season and went on to make four more first-team substitute appearances for the Premier League first team.
This includes 24 minutes in the match against Chelsea.
19-year-old Omari Forson is the youngster named on the bench, while 18-year-old Habeeb Ogunneye has also been named on the bench for the third time this season and is yet to make his debut for the Red Devils.
If Amass or Ogunneye retire from the senior squad today, they will become the 250th player from the academy to join the club.
More to come.
