Man Utd backs down when the $142 million target hints he might not move to Old Trafford

The last of Jadon Sancho hinted that, after all, he might not move to Manchester United in the existing summer moving window.

Sancho has been Man Utd’s main target in months, but the Red Devils are unwilling to meet Dortmund’s $142 million demands for the 20-year-old midfielder.

Although the summer moving window is open until October 5, Dortmund had set a deadline of 10 August for Man Utd to seal the Sancho agreement. With the deadline, Dortmund’s director recently said that Sancho, who still has two years left on his current Bundesliga contract, will remain with them for at least one more season.

Even after the sporting director’s statement, there were rumors that Man Utd would not yield to Sancho for the time being, given that the player has been impressive under the yellow jersey for more than two seasons, having scored 33 goals in competition.

Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer points to the team for the next crusade and believes Sancho will be the best in compatibility and will have fun with Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba.

Sancho is recently in Switzerland with Dortmund for his pre-season before the 2020–21 campaign. The Englishman played forty-five minutes in Dortmund’s 6-0 win over Altach in a friendly on Wednesday.

After the match, Sancho was interviewed through dortmund’s official BVB television channel, where he revealed his preference for a leader in Dortmund’s existing team.

“I love betting with this lot. It’s a panel. We have some special young players to come. I am happy to share the apartment with them and advise them. I was in his shoes once, gambling with the elders. I’m satisfied with them. I joined them when I was 17. Some kids are the same age. I went and I did. I can advise you on what’s smart and what’s not. I hope I can motivate them too,” he added. Sancho, who was allegedly asked to accept a pay cut through Man Utd.

The English-listed online mail page claimed to have obtained internal data that Man Utd had first asked Sancho to accept a pay cut before giving him a momentary deal that matches his existing agreement in Dortmund: $248,000 a week.
