Man Utd: Fernandes is being watched via PSG as Enrique ‘validates’ £73m failure to ‘replace Mbappe’

Paris Saint-Germain Man Utd winger Jadon Sancho will “help update Kylian Mbappe” and “really appreciate” Bruno Fernandes, according to reports.

Sancho, who earns Man Utd £73m in 2021, is back in Erik ten Hag’s smart books after the pair blew up their issue.

The 24-year-old scored his first goal for the Red Devils since last August in a friendly against Rangers on Saturday.

The reconciliation with Ten Hag has replaced Man Utd’s stance towards Sancho and they are now ready to keep him.

He will most likely be tested in the coming days with PSG, champions of France, in talks to sign the player.

Foot Mercato reported that the English foreigner is close to signing a deal with the Parisians and is “extremely excited” to move.

A report from CaughtOffaspect’s Daily Briefing now claims that Sancho and PSG are “close to agreeing non-public conditions” and that the French side will contact Manchester United to discuss a move “later this week”.

Indeed, the Premier League giants “now feel they would prefer to sell Sancho this summer”, however, an offer worth €50 million to €60 million (£42 million to £50m) would likely “persuade” them to sell.

PSG coach Luis Enrique Sancho is said to be able to “help upgrade Kylian Mbappé”, who recently joined European champions Real Madrid on a flexible transfer.

“There have been positive talks” between PSG and the Englishman’s representatives, and the Ligue 1 club’s initial offer is expected to be worth around €40m (£34m).

Sancho is the only Manchester United player PSG are keen on, and captain Bruno Fernandes is a player Enrique would be happy to sign.

The Red Devils will be reluctant to sell their star player, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be ruled out. A report published in April claimed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe considered only young stars Rasmus Hojlund, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho untouchable.

Fernandes’ long career has been a big topic of discussion in recent months amid Al Nassr’s interest in Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese playmaker is reportedly in a position to leave if his ambitions do not align with those of Ratcliffe and his team.

French journalist Loïc Tanzi has stated that PSG “value Fernandes a lot”. He adds that Luis Enrique has “validated” the signing of Sancho.

Man Utd are in talks to sign Manuel Ugarte from the French giants and may benefit from interest in Sancho and Fernandes, while Ratcliffe also likes Xavi Simons, Tanzi said.

It is claimed that PSG “struggled” to recruit a new winger after Mbappé’s departure and that “the last one carries Sancho”.

They have also been linked with Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratschia, while Victor Osimhen is an attacking target.

Tanzi says that it is proving very difficult to point to Kvaratskhelia and that PSG are now elsewhere, which brings them to Sancho.

Meanwhile, “negotiations over Osimhen have cooled down” and Randal Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos are reluctant to travel to the French capital.

Napoli received a boost thanks to “private” conversations with Osimhen, who “talked about staying in Naples”.
