Manchester United has strengthened in the movement against Edinson Cavani after Benfica withdrew from negotiations with former PSG star. The Red Devils have been associated with the Uruguayan foreigner despite Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Odion Ighalo and Mason Greenwood in their books. And now they have a window of opportunity if they need to take South America to the Premier League this summer.
Manchester United has been interested in Cavani for several years, and interest goes back to when David Moyes in the perch rate.
The Scot reflected on the frontman’s signature in the 2013 summer movement window, only to get lost after the Uruguayan foreigner joined PSG.
United was connected to Cavani at a time when the veteran was a loose agent.
And now they have a window of hope for Benfica’s football director, Rui Costa, 33, which reveals that conversations with the team had failed.
“Everyone knows that Benfica was interested in Cavani, we introduced him, but this ball is no longer on our court,” A Bola told.
“We ended our role in the negotiations because we can’t do more than we’ve already done.”

He then added: “This case is absolutely closed on our side. I need to give the impression that we’ve reopened something, because we’re going to reopen.”
“It wasn’t possible, so let’s create other solutions. We can’t think about things that are possible anymore.
When PSG reached the Champions League final against Bayern Munich on Sunday, Cavani opted for the start.
He left as the club’s most sensible goalscorer of all time, having discovered the network twice in 301 games in seven years since his move to Ligue 1.
Cavani has scored 44 more goals than Zlatan Ibrahimovic has controlled his time in France, as both have had a desirable rivalry at the club.

Meanwhile, former United Louis Saha star recently suggested to her former team passing behind Cavani, believing it could give a new size to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s star-studded attack.
“I think Manchester United missed something by signing Edinson Cavani this summer,” he told the Football Index podcast.
“I’ve been following him for many years and I’m tired of it not seeming to be any interest.
“For me, Cavani would be compatible this summer.
“Cavani has a wonderful sense of the goal and his leadership would be a wonderful asset. It has very complicated qualities in the moving market.”

Saha also passed a resolution through Lyon star Moussa Dembele, adding: “I think Moussa Dembele can be an attractive signing for Manchester United.”
“From my time in Fulham I knew that Dembélé is physically strong and that he would be a very objective man.
“I should delay the game and bring giant players into the game as an opposite effective Plan B to some opponents.”
In addition to United, Leeds and Boca Juniors have been associated with Cavani.
