Manchester left-back Tyrell Malacia will join PSV Eindhoven on loan for the rest of the season, according to reports.
The Dutchman was prepared to sign for Benfica over the weekend, however, that resolution was set aside on the day due to differences over loan fees and the option to buy. Malacia would have even said goodbye to his teammates, only to remain in limbo again.
United have been exploring loan destinations for Malacia since the start of the month, with manager Ruben Amorim preferring to use Diogo Dalot or Noussair Mazraoui on their weaker left flanks than the 25-year-old, who only recently returned from a long-term injury.
And now it turns out that they have discovered one. Dutch media outlet Voetbal International claims that PSV ‘suddenly appeared’ after Malacia collapsed at Benfica, and the player is now ‘on his way’ to the Netherlands.
PSV have a void at left-back to fill after the play-off move from Matteo to Al-Ahli. And Malacia would be his first choice, with eredivisie bags revelling in his resume after coming through the ranks of Feyenoord and spending five years in his first team.
Malacia have just five games for United this season, and have not played more than forty-five minutes in a game since controlling just over an hour opposite Viktoria PLZen in mid-December.
