“Harry (Maguire) maybe, Mason (Mount), I think he wants a couple more days or a week. “
Borussia Dortmund are not finding it easy for Manchester United to pay a third of Jadon Sancho’s salary, according to reports.
Talks between the clubs are progressing on a possible loan in January.
The 23-year-old Sancho is in a position to end his nightmare at Old Trafford and sign for his former club.
But Dortmund are unwilling to pay his full £290,000-a-week salary as it forms part of their budget, the Mail claims.
Therefore, it is not easy for the German giants to get Man Utd to pay £100,000 of his salary every week.
That means the Red Devils will give Sancho around £2. 5m to play until the end of this season if they accept the offer.
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly willing to reach an unexpected deal for Joshua Kimmich this month.
The 28-year-old midfielder has 18 months left on his contract with Bayern Munich.

Tottenham centre-back Micky van de Ven is aiming to return to Old Trafford on Sunday.

Ahead of Spurs’ game against Manchester United, Van de Ven told Hayters: “I’m really pleased to be back. I feel fit, I don’t have pain anymore, so I think I’m ready. “
“It’s a smart feeling to be back with the team and to be on the bench. There’s an important game next week, so hopefully I can play some minutes there. “
Lee Sharpe warned new club chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe that he faces a “big project” after his recent takeover.
And that is a reconstruction of Old Trafford.
Ratcliffe has completed his long-awaited 25 per cent takeover of United, pending final approval from the Premier League.
Sir Jim will be up to date on all matters relating to the boy and girl groups as well as the academy.
The Ineos leader faces a huge task, which includes Erik ten Hag’s long-suffering squad and the club’s modernisation.
And Sharpe pleaded with the 71-year-old to start rebuilding Old Trafford to rival Arsenal’s Emirates and Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Speaking on his YouTube channel Vibe with Five, he said: “I know everyone promotes it, but I don’t think Dominik Szoboszlai was a success [as other people claim].
“He’s a good player but people are saying ‘oh, he’s the next [Steven] Gerrard!’ and I haven’t seen that yet.
“I just see the comments [from the fans]. But one of my teammates in my squad says [that he’s the next Gerrard].
“But it’s great to see. “
Erik ten Hag said it was “work done” after Manchester United’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Wigan on Monday night.
After a nervous start which saw Andre Onana making an early save at the DW Stadium, the Red Devils coasted through to the fourth round.
With a difficult start to the season, the Red Devils got a draw in the next round in favor against Newport or Eastleigh.
Diogo Dalot’s goal opened the scoring for United before Bruno Fernandes won and scored a penalty after the break.
Ten Hag admitted he was pleased with the result, but gave a very direct speech about the team after the game.
He said to ITV: “The FA Cup is all about winning, it is knockout. You want to finish the job. That is what I said in the dressing room, ‘job done’.”
It’s been an exciting start to the 2023/24 Premier League campaign, with battles at both ends of the table starting to heat up.
And as we move into the second half of the season, enthusiasts are wondering why only one part of the most sensible flight is played this weekend – SunSport is right.
A host of England’s star-studded Golden Generation have stepped into the dug-out as managers – but none of them are yet to win a domestic trophy in this country.
However, that could all change this season if Michael Carrick leads Middlesbrough to Wembley glory.
The 42-year-old Manchester United legend, who has made 34 international appearances for the Three Lions, and his Boro face Chelsea in the first leg of tonight’s Carabao Cup semi-final at River.
Taking the Championship team to the final would be another impressive accolade for Carrick, still new to the lead.
He took charge of Boro more than a year ago, with the club in 21st place in second position and threatened with relegation.
His only experience in the dugout was a three-game spell in 2021 at Manchester United, which led them to two wins over Villarreal and Arsenal and a draw with Chelsea.
Ivan Toney has moved away from Brentford.
He told Sky Sports: “Everyone knows Brentford is a family club, they have been nothing but amazing for me. I can’t thank them enough, especially the fans. They were behind me from the first minute as well. So it’s kind of like I have a lot to repay.
“With Brentford, they’re struggling at the moment, but I’m sure when I come back I’ll play an important role in getting them out of the debilitating situation they’re in. I can’t wait to go back and help. ” My teammates.
“Everyone at Brentford knows that I will do everything I can to get the club out of the difficult era we are in.
“But there’s no tension and even if I was there I wouldn’t feel it and that’s what keeps me going. Brentford, we’ve been here before and we know how to deal with it. “
Gareth Southgate was asked by fans to choose Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainooo in his squad for the European Championship.
The Red Devils’ 18-year-old inspired Erik ten Hag’s men on Monday afternoon with a 2-0 win over League One Wigan in the third round of the FA Cup.
Mainoo’s emergence as an option for Man Utd has seen him start each of their last five games.
And in the wake of another positive display, some people on social media were urging Southgate to throw him in as part of a midfield three alongside England regulars Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham.
One user said: “If Kobbie Mainoo has played for a bigger team with better players around him, he will start with England this summer. This guy is ridiculous. “
While another added: “Mainoo-Rice-Bellingham will win England the Euros.”

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr can be seamlessly for his superstar father with his most recent video.
The 13-year-old scored a very good free-kick in an educational consultation with young Chelsea prospect Yahya Idrissi.
Ronaldo Jr filmed on the education floor practicing his set pieces in front of a false wall.
And he impressively took a free-kick straight into the most sensible corner, just as his father does in his career.
The video posted online via Idrissi, who is part of Chelsea’s academy after signing from West Ham in 2021.
Ronaldo Jr on the other hand plies his trade at dad Cristiano’s club Al-Nassr.
Here’s how Hojlund compares to United’s forwards.
The January transfer window is in full swing, with many Premier League clubs looking to arrive before the end of the season.
But some clubs may want to be more cautious than others due to FFP restrictions, and SunSport has all the details.
Rasmus Hojlund’s terrible stats have been laid bare: Wout Weghorst has a worse record after 24 games.
Hojlund squandered chances when United beat Wigan 2-0 in the third round of the FA Cup last night.
The game was his 24th in a United shirt.
And in that time, he has only scored six goals in all competitions and provided the odd assist.
But for Hojlund, of all the strikers who have played for United since 2013/14, this is the second-worst record ever recorded.
Romelu Lukaku leads with 17 assists ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic (16) and Marcus Rashford (14).
Even Anthony Martial (10), Edinson Cavani (9) and Alexis Sanchez (9) have scored more after 24 games than Hojlund.
And that’s not to mention the records of Mason Greenwood (8), Memphis Depay (8) and Radamel Falcao (8).
But it is flop Weghorst who has even worse numbers than Hojlund, scoring just five goals in his first 24 games for United.
It’s just the movements and assists that are proving difficult for United’s new striker.
Hojlund also has the lowest win of all the Red Devils forwards mentioned above.
Just 10 of his 24 games have resulted in victory, putting him alongside Greenwood and Martial with a win percentage of 42.
And as Hojlund owns the most minutes on the pitch among United’s front 11, his lack of contribution in the final third becomes painfully clearer with the aerial game.
Despite Pual Scholes’ ridicule, Jesse Lingard is said to have performed in Barcelona.
In the 2022/23 campaign, Lingard has contributed two goals and two assists in 20 games for Forest.
And he failed to score a single goal in the Premier League for Steve Cooper’s men.
He scored 35 goals and 21 assists in 232 appearances for Man Utd.
And he played 32 caps for England and scored six goals.
But Gareth Southgate has been going for Lingard since 2021.
Paul Scholes attacked Jesse Lingard with an X-rated social media post as the former Manchester United player continues to search for a club.
Lingard, 31, has been a free agent since being released via Nottingham Forest at the end of last season.
Towards the end of 2023, he trained with West Ham and Saudi Al-Ettifaq but failed to secure a contract with either of them.
Everton are being linked with a move for the ex-England international in the January transfer window.
But for now he remains without a club as he seeks a way back into the game.
On Monday, Lingard shared a host of photos showcasing his work in the gym.
But Manchester United icon Scholes, 49, who won 11 Premier League titles at Old Trafford, was not impressed with the social media post.
He responded to the photos by saying, “Are you going to fuck in the gym or are you going to play football?
Jude Bellingham hilariously trolled Jamie Carragher and Kate Abdo about their picks of the year.
Bellingham was snapped up by Richards and Scott after he was trolled by Carragher.
The Liverpool legend joked when picking his midfield: “This is the easiest choice I have to make, I’m going to pick a young superstar from England, who has lit up the Champions League, it has to be only one man… Declan Rice.”
Bellingham came away with points and Richards was plunged into hysteria.
Selections with Carragher and Abdo for the first 3 formed by Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane and Lionel Messi.
Opponents Richards and Scott went for Vinicius Junior, Erling Haaland and Mo Salah.
With Bellingham in the side and promised a “free role” in the midfield by his co-gaffers, the Real Madrid star said that team was best.
The 20-year-old then received the biggest lead from Carragher as he laughed at the fact his front three lacked pace.
Bellingham quipped: “I don’t think there is enough energy in there… a lot of walking.”
Carragher replied: “I’m telling you Jude, do a race with Mbappe and see what happens. “
Manchester United passed up the chance to sign Timo Werner ahead of Tottenham, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Spurs will loan the RB Leipzig striker for the rest of the season after agreeing with the Bundesliga club over the weekend.
United have opted not to reach an agreement for Werner, the former Chelsea striker does not have a match for the profile of striker they are looking for.
According to The Independent, Sir Dave Brailsford will decide whether Manchester United want one or two chefs in an eight-week audit.
The outcome will also detail other key appointments, but no primary decisions will be made until it concludes.
The audit, commissioned through Ineos because they also pass the control of the owners and directors of the Premier League for a minority stake in the club, is first and foremost an attempt at “the challenge of functionality”.
United will then decide whether the design of football will be controlled through a leading director of football or if the role will be split into two: a director of football and a sporting director.
