Manchester United have signed Donny van de Beek from Ajax, after agreeing to pay 35 million pounds (39 million euros / four6 million dollars) plus four million pounds of add-ons for the Dutch midfielder.
The 23-year-old has a five-year contract with him to make it big for one more season.
He will wear the number 34 at Old Trafford, a tribute to former Ajax teammate Abdelhak Nouri, who had been in a coma for more than two years after suffering a cardiac arrest in 2017.
The terms of the agreement were agreed on Sunday between the clubs and the move has now been formalized through the Old Trafford team after reaching agreement on the player’s terms, which also passed a medical examination.
Van de Beek, who did not worry when Ajax faced Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin in friendly this weekend, has become United’s first signing in the 2020 summer movement window.
