Man Utd summoned for talks via Borussia Dortmund as Jadon Sancho ‘disagreement’ emerges

Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly in a position to start a new round of negotiations over Jadon Sancho’s future. The two sides have yet to reach an agreement on whether to focus on negotiating a permanent deal or a season-long loan for the winger, whose relationship with United manager Erik ten Hag has collapsed.

Sancho spent four-and-a-half months out of the festival after being kicked out of United’s first team via Ten Hag. A war of words over the 23-year-old’s omission from the opposing team at Arsenal in September sparked a public spat – and he has not played for the Red Devils since.

A January loan spell at BVB, where Sancho played between 2017 and 2021, allowed him to rack up senior minutes for the rest of the campaign, and the former Englishman sent a quick message to his parent club by lending a hand to Darmstadt on his debut.

According to HITC, United’s directors have made the decision to sell Sancho permanently, but no agreement has been reached with Dortmund because the Bundesliga side would prefer a season-long loan with an option to buy at the end of 2024/25.

United have reportedly informed Sancho and his representatives that they prefer the summer sale, something the player would also be in favour of. The deal with BVB would be the final piece of the puzzle.

A loan with an option could see Sancho return to United if Dortmund waive the permanent transfer fee. The Red Devils would push for a loan with the legal responsibility to buy at least if they fail to trap the German side to strike an undeniable deal. deal.

The two sides are reportedly looking to engage in regular talks about Sancho’s future in the coming weeks. United paid £73 million for the player in 2021, after following him for years.

Sancho’s output has dwindled, especially after signing a prime contract at Old Trafford. An impressive total of 50 goals in 137 games for Dortmund followed by just 12 goals in 82 games for the Red Devils.

Despite once being touted as a long-term star on the foreign stage, Sancho has not appeared alone for England since 2021 and is unlikely to make up his mind in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad.

After lending a hand on his second BVB debut, Sancho has gone seven games without contributing a goal while Dortmund are 20 points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
