Man Utd would reportedly possibly have to pay up to two-thirds of Jadon Sancho’s salary during his imaginable loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho came off the bench for the Reds’ first three games of the Premier League season before being sent off from Arsenal in early September.
Following their 3-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium, Ten Hag insisted that Sancho had been left out of the Man Utd squad due to his poor performance in training.
Sancho took to social media to deny his claims and insisted he had been made a “scapegoat” for the club’s form at the start of the season.
The Man Utd winger eventually deleted the post but he is still refusing to apologise to Ten Hag and his staff and has subsequently been banned from the first-team training facilities.
With Sancho away from the rest of Man Utd’s first team, it now seems certain that the England foreigner will leave Old Trafford in January on a flexible transfer.

And movement experts David Ornstein, Fabrizio Romano and company. announced that Dortmund were “in talks” with Manchester United about Sancho’s loan.
Ornstein wrote on X that Dortmund’s “desire to re-sign 23yo winger is firm + there’s optimism a deal can be agreed” but it ‘remains to be seen what proportion of salary Dortmund are willing to cover with talks ongoing’.
But The Times now claims that Man Utd will most likely have to take a heavy hit to Sancho’s salary, with the Bundesliga side pledging to “pay only a third of his salary for the duration of the deal”.
The report adds: “Dortmund expect United to reach an agreement whereby the German club would pay £2. 6m for the player’s salary over the next six months. Under the terms of the proposal, United would pay Sancho £5. 2m over the period. of the loan, although he wouldn’t play for them.
It is highlighted that this would not be the first time that Man Utd “approves subsidised deals” and “it is evident that they would possibly have to do it again to get rid of Sancho”. It remains to be seen if they will accept Dortmund’s low offer.
The Man Utd winger has also been linked to Juventus, Barcelona, Saudi Arabian clubs and West Ham but it now looks like a move back to Dortmund – who the Red Devils signed him from in 2021 for £72m – could be the most likely option.
