Man Utd transfer news: How much is Jadon Sancho worth in the transfer market?

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund this summer. The 20-year-old enjoyed a fine season with the Bundesliga club, scoring 20 goals and providing 20 assists in all competitions.

Sancho is thought to be United’s top target this summer.

However, BBC Sport reported earlier this week the two clubs ‘remain far apart’ in their valuation of the player.

Dortmund are said be holding out for €120m (£108m), while United feel that fee is ‘unrealistic’ in the current climate.

“It’s turning into one of those ‘who will blink first?’ situations,” Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth said on the Transfer Talk podcast.

“Last week there was what was described to me as ‘increased confidence’ that a deal could get done; personal terms were close to being agreed in principle.

“Man Utd want Jadon Sancho. Sancho wants to go to Man Utd and there appears to be a willingness from all parties to get a deal done.

“That’s the straightforward bit – but we have a game of poker because United won’t be held to ransom; they feel Dortmund’s asking price of €120m is too high in the current climate and are now looking at alternatives, though I think you have to take that bit with a pinch of salt.”

According to statistical site Transfermarkt, Sancho’s current market value is £105.3million.

That places the Dortmund star at No 8 in Transfermarkt’s worldwide list.

His highest ever value in the market was £117m earlier this year, according to the site.

Sancho was first valued in excess of £100m in December 2019.

According to BBC Sport, Sancho takes home £190,000-a-week with Dortmund.

The England international is contracted to the club until 2022.

Should he complete a move to Old Trafford, Sancho can expect to see wages increase.

According to the Guardian, United are prepared to pay him £250,000 per week.
