Video: Mana Iwabuchi’s glorious purpose is to help Aston Villa WSL win against the Spurs
Arsenal have signed Japanese forward Mana Iwabuchi after leaving Aston Villa, a rival in the women’s super league.
The 28-year-old has scored two goals in thirteen games for Villa after signing for InAC’s Kobe Leonessa in December.
Iwabuchi, a member of the Japanese team that won the 2011 Women’s World Cup, the first of the 3 World Cups she played, and scored 31 goals in 74 games for her county.
He helped Japan win a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics.
“I am very pleased to be able to announce, in spite of everything, that I am an Arsenal player,” Iwabuchi, who also played in Germany, told the club’s website.
“I know the club has wanted to point me out for a long time, so it is a great honor to play for Arsenal. There are so many amazing players and I can’t wait to get started. “
