Haaland picked up a ball in midfield and sent Phil Foden on a 40-metre run towards goal.

Foden helps keep calm and stands next to Sánchez.

Reece James and Jadon Sancho come, while bad taste and Pedro Neto will enter the fray in the 73rd minute.

Marmoush goes out to Kevin de Bruyne. A beginning.

Ederson’s long hopeful ball finds Haaland, who gets the best of Trevoh Chalobah and finds Robert Sanchez charging out of his goal.

The Norwegian did not flinch, put the ball to the goalkeeper and gave the City his first advantage of the game.

Enzo Maresca makes a move, too, bringing on Christopher Nkunku in place on Jackson in the 61st minute.

It’s a 54-minute Deyet for Man City, the first five of which were brutal, but the 20-year-old finished well. Your speed isn’t smart enough, but you still want some lens changes in Pep’s system.

John Stones took his position with the 1-1 in the 54th minute.

The shots are 11-5 for the city and noticed 3. 39 xg combined (the city has 2. 10).

Khusanov’s nightmare in five minutes, it may be 2-0 for the hosts. But that’s not the case, and it’ll be a fun half.

Croatian backing is a precursor.

Matheus Nunes at 50:50 with Marc Cucurella.

His shot went past Sanchez, but the rebound went past Nunes to Gvardiol, who shot from an acute angle into the empty net.

Josko Gvardiol almost aired a special for city moments after Chelsea denied them via Khusanov.

Now, Phil Foden is hammering from 19 yards.

1-0 Chelsea, 10′.

Oh no. Another new face of Man City, Abdukhodir Khusanov, will have to act temporarily after a long ball fell.

He heads it back toward goal and Nicolas Jackson gets there first, making a deft pass for Madueke to tap over the line.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s new Big Buy gets Chelsea’s backline for a chance.

He puts strength but Robert Sánchez stops.

Ederson, Nunes, Khusanov, Akanji, Gvardiol, Kovacic, Gundogan, Bernardo (C), Marmoush, Foden, Haaland

Sánchez, James, Chabah, Colwill, Cucurella, Caicedo, Fernández, Madueke, Palmer, Sancho, Jackson

Pep Guardiola’s city is reeling after a damaging midweek defeat to PSG as they look to win their best Champions League level of organisation fit to have a chance to progress to the last 16. The city led 2-0 at the time still ended up wasting 4-2 after some other devastating collapse. In the Premier League, City have won 3 of their last 4 games and beat Ipswich 6-0 last weekend, however, Guardiola will have to find answers defensively, especially in opposition to the big boys. After adding Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis in the January movement window, his squad has been strengthened, but there is still no help in central midfield.

Chelsea has fought for all groups in recent weeks, however, that has not been a challenge during his 3-1 victory opposite to the wolves on Monday. Enzo Maresca’s team was two MAN City front problems before this fit and if you told them that when those groups met the first day of the season, Chelsea took it. There is a sense of sadness in the face of their bad adventure last month, but they create many opportunities for each one and are a laugh.

City continue to struggle with defensive injuries as Ruben Dias is out again. It’s all about getting the balance right in central midfield for City, with Kovacic expected to start with Gundogan in the deeper roles. Foden, Haaland and De Bruyne have been back on top form in recent weeks and will get the nod in attack, while Grealish could come into the lineup. New signing Omar Marmoush is also likely to feature off the bench.

OUT: Rodri (ACL tear – PLUS), Oscar Bobb (lower leg), Nathan Ake (muscle), Ruben Dias (adductor), Jeremy Doku (punch)

The big challenge for Chelsea is in the middle of the back with Fofana. Tosin and Chalobah played well opposite to the wolves, the latter returning directly from his loan to the Crystal Palace and Excelims. Chalobah will probably start alongside the Cowill Levi Cowill if the latter is in smart form. Reece James is close to completing form on the right and looks encouraged, while Fernandez would not possibly start in midfield and with Lavia still out of respect, Caicedo may also have full nourishment about looking like him with Malo Gusto, Cucurella or James. This role for a little more and defensive solidity.

Out: Wesley Fofana (hamstring), Mykhailo Mudryk (suspension), Benoit Badiashile (undisclosed), Omari Kellyman (thigh), Romeo Lavia (thigh) | Questionable: Levi Colwill (other), Enzo Fernández (other)
