Manchester City and Leyton Orient report new virus

LONDON (AP) – The fourth departmental team scheduled to host Tottenham in the English League Cup on Monday reported several cases of coronavirus among their players, and a Manchester City player tested positive.

Leyton Orient has closed his stadium and grounds after “several of our first team” tested positive, the London club said Monday. The East is facing Tottenham on Tuesday.

There was no quick comment from Tottenham, who picked up his first Premier League issues on Sunday by beating Southampton 5–2.

Leyton Orient said he has informed his recent war parts of Ligue 2 and Tottenham of the positive cases, and that he would make a subsequent announcement related to Tuesday’s party. He said the stadium and educational grounds were closed until further notice.

The tests were conducted after Leyton Orient’s adjustment on Saturday and those they have tested will adhere to the government’s self-disalrillation guidelines.

“Leyton Orient’s priority is the physical condition and well-being of his staff,” the club said in a statement.

Man City said Ilkay Gundogan had tested positive for coronavirus, but gave no main points about his condition, and said only the German midfielder would isolate himself for 10 days according to government protocols.

“Everyone at Ilkay Club is a speedy recovery,” said City, who opened his season on Monday opposite Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Two weeks ago, the City said Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte had COVID-19.

The Premier League said a total of three other people tested positive among the club’s 1,574 players and were tested COVID-19 last week. The league revealed no name.
