LONDON – Manchester City has hired Spanish winger Ferran Torres from Valencia.
Torres, 20, has put the pen on paper on a five-year contract, the Premier League announced on Tuesday on its social media platforms.
“Welcome Ferran Torres” poster on the club’s website.
Although the announcement did not mention monetary details, the British media reported that the measure paid 23 million pounds ($27.10 million).
Torres scored six goals and amassed 8 assists for Valencia in all competitions last season when he finished ninth in La Liga.

“I am very pleased to sign for the City. All players should be concerned in attack groups and Manchester City is one of the highest offensive players in world football,” Torres told the club’s website.
“Pep fosters an open and competitive style, which I love, and is a coach who has demonstrated his ability to get better players. Ensuring my progression is a dream.
“The City has won many trophies in over the over 10 years and I look forward to playing a role in achieving this success.”
