Manchester City players Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte, or are self-insulating after positive for COVID-19, confirmed the club.
It was announced on the City’s official online page earlier in the day that the couple was now following government rules on quarantine after contracting the disease, fortunately for now, none of the players show any symptoms.
Mahrez and Laporte are expected to be key players for Pep Guardiola’s team this season, so City enthusiasts certainly hope to temporarily return to the court as soon as possible.
However, this is not ideal for City, with the Premier League season in a few days, and enthusiasts from all clubs hope the game will not be interrupted after last season’s long suspension.
The Premier League was postponed in March and did not resume until June, and matches will remain behind closed doors for the time being.
In early summer, the mother of the city’s director, Guardiola, tragically walked away after contracting a coronavirus.
