Yorkshire [UK], Aug 28 (ANI): Manchester City assistant coach Juanma Lillo has revealed that Pep Guardiola was linked to the team in their 2-1 win over Sheffield United. Erling Haaland opened the scoring before the hosts equalized with a deflected shot from Jayden Bogle. Three minutes later, Rodri scored the winner to make the Blues the only team to have won all of their Premier League games this season. After the game, in statements to the club’s official website, he revealed that Pep Guardiola, who has been out due to back surgery, was in contact with the squad. “During the game I spoke to him on occasion, but he spoke regularly with other members of the coaching staff. Today he was absolutely attentive. If there was more space on the bench, I would not have sat in his seat. Pep’s seat is Pep’s seat. Pep. He was there with us the whole time. ” “I much prefer being with Pep and especially when it comes to health, I don’t like it at all. When I was here before, and now, he encouraged us all to get involved. We want his presence more than ever. ” Juanma added. In the first half, the Norwegian forward missed the opportunity to convert a penalty. But he stepped in in the second half to score with a header from Jack Grealish’s cross. Juanma was inspired by Haaland’s reaction, saying: “Today would have been difficult for any striker because he got into the first half. There’s the penalty that was frustrating but it can happen to any striker, not just Erling. Which shows. ” and not only because he scored, but also because he shows his intellectual strength to keep going. It’s actually hard to locate and he showed it off today. He is young but his brain state is very good ”, concluded Juanma. (ANI)
