Manchester City were the fastest team to score 250 goals in the Champions League in their convincing 3-0 win over BSC Young Boys on Tuesday night.
City continued their best start to their defence at the Etihad, securing their position in the round of 16 with a fourth successive win at organisational level. Erling Haaland and Phil Foden gave Pep Guardiola’s side the lead before the break before the Norwegian striker. He made it 3 shortly after the break.
And it’s the third and final goal that took City to 250 in the competition. And he also reached that milestone in record time, in just 119 games.

City became the first team to qualify for the knockout stages with Tuesday’s win, their 18th in a row across the continent. That run dates back to last season, when they went all the way, beating Inter Milan in the final in Istanbul.
Tuesday’s record-breaking night, however, was ruined by the loss to John Stones. The defender had just returned from a tackle but was sent off at half-time against Young Boys.
“John felt it again,” Guardiola told TNT Sports. “I feel sorry for him. It’s a big loss for us. John is very vital to what he does. But recover and the season is long; it will come back stronger. “I think he’ll be out for a while. “
