Manchester City take resolve to retain home kit after 2024/25 launch | football

Manchester City will keep their kit for Sunday’s clash against West Ham at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s side could clinch a fourth straight Premier League title with a win over West Ham at the weekend, while Manchester City would win their sixth English top-flight title in seven years.

The Cityzens took the Premier League title race with a hugely important 2-0 win over Tottenham on Tuesday night, while Erling Haaland’s second-half brace left the Sky Blues needing three more things to claim the Premier League trophy.

Manchester City’s final clash at the Etihad Stadium against West Ham at the weekend is the penultimate game of the Blues’ campaign, with an Emirates FA Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium leading up to Sunday’s clash.

Despite having two games left to play this season, Manchester City unveiled their new home shirt for the 2024/25 campaign on Thursday, unveiling a new stripe animated by Manchester code 0161.

The blouse uses the club’s classic sky blue combined with military and white details, with threaded sleeves tending to represent the numbers 0161.

Commenting on the new kit, Marco Mueller, Puma’s senior director of sportswear product range management, said: “This kit epitomises precisely what it’s like to be a Manchester United and Manchester City fan.

“This is our sixth home blouse with Manchester City and we’re proud to show what Manchester United is all about through the design of this blouse. “

Jack Gaughan reports that despite the release of Manchester City’s kit this week, the first team will retain this season’s existing blouse for Sunday’s match against West Ham at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola’s men have already won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup this season in the home shirt and with the national team jersey they also hope to win the Premier League and the FA Cup.
