Manchester City are back in the Premier League this weekend and may arrive at Brentford on Monday night with a chance to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool to just two points.
City to Gtech Community Stadium on Monday after Wednesday night’s 3-1 win over Burnley. Arsenal and Liverpool’s midweek wins mean the speed has at best continued into the first month of 2024.
This weekend presents Pep Guardiola’s men with an intriguing one as Liverpool and Arsenal meet at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. A draw is the ideal result for City with Liverpool five points ahead of them lately.

City have been here before and will build on the experience of years past to propel Arsenal and Liverpool to the title. With 17 games remaining, there are still 51 things to play for between now and the end of the season.
So with that being said, the Manchester Evening News has taken a look at City’s upcoming Premier League fixtures along with those of their title rivals.
With Haaland’s long-awaited return from injury in midweek and Kevin De Bruyne already making an impact, City are as close to full strength as they have been all season. Teams may not need to play them in the second part of the season.

Sunday’s game against Arsenal is huge for Liverpool. Having beaten them in north London in the FA Cup in 2024, the Reds can make a breakthrough in a good run of games this month.

Back-to-back wins over Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest have steadied Arsenal’s ship after three successive defeats in all competitions. However, facing Liverpool and West Ham in their next two games could provide a number of problems.
Since beating Brentford on Dec. 17, Villa have won just once in seven matches in all competitions. Tuesday’s 3-1 home loss to Newcastle left them in fifth place, despite being just 3 points behind Man City.

The 3-2 draw against Brentford showed that Spurs have the ability to win tough games. Next up is the tough thing at Goodison Park, but all eyes will be on the London derby against Chelsea later this month.
