Manchester Crown Court will reopen for hearings following a coronavirus outbreak.
The Spinningfields court has been closed since Monday, August 10 after 8 cases of COVID-19 were shown among staff.
Following the cluster of cases, fitness officials said further testing was necessary through other people running in the building, even if they had not shown symptoms of the virus.
An ‘outbreak monitoring team’ has also been set up through Public Health England and the Manchester Council to investigate the outbreak.
The court must now reopen (Aug 26) for remote hearings only.
The physical hearings will take place as of September 1, has confirmed the HM Courts and Tribunals Service.
In a tweet earlier today, the service said: “Update: Public Health England and Manchester City Council verify that the site will open.
“The courthouse construction will reopen (Aug. 26) for remote hearings only.
